Who should avoid Vibroacoustic Yoga?
Although Vibroacoustic Yoga is designed to be a gentle and healing practice for most people, there are certain cases where caution or avoidance is necessary. It's not about creating fear, but about ensuring a safe experience for everyone.
1. People with pacemakers or other electronic implants
Our floor emits low-frequency vibrations through advanced technology, which in very rare cases can affect pacemakers or other active implants. We therefore recommend that people with such devices first consult their doctor and inform us in advance.
2. Pregnancy (especially first trimester)
While many pregnant women love the feeling of vibration and warmth, we recommend extra caution - especially in the first trimester. Vibration affects the pelvic floor and internal organs, which is why we do not offer sessions to pregnant women without prior approval from their own midwife or doctor.
3. Acute injuries or inflammatory conditions
Vibration can increase blood flow in the body. This is usually beneficial - but not if you have an acute injury, swelling or active inflammation. In these cases, the body should be given rest, not stimulation.
4. Epilepsy or other neurological conditions
Low frequency sound and vibration can deeply activate the nervous system. For people with epilepsy or certain neurological diagnoses, it can be overstimulating. If in doubt, always ask your doctor first.
5. Very sound-sensitive people
If you have a very low threshold for sound, vibration or tactile stimuli, a session may feel too intense. However, we do offer vibration level adjustment - and in some cases, vibration can be turned off completely on your mat if you wish. The most important thing is that you feel safe.
Your safety first
At Vibro Yoga, we prioritize safety and customization. All participants are required to fill out a short form when booking so that we can accommodate any special needs. Our teachers and staff are always on hand to answer questions and help you assess whether a session is right for you.
We believe that vibration can be an amazing tool - but only when used with care.
